What is NetGift Registry?
NetGift Registry provides tools for merchants,
Web storefront providers, and e-commerce
software manufacturers to quickly
build their own, private-labeled gift
registry. And through our network of
relationships with major destination sites, we can
make the gift registry data available to gift
givers elsewhere on the Web.

Who else is in the gift registry space?
Who are your competitors?
There are lots of gift registries in the
marketplace. Without exception, their objective is
to build their brand not yours, usually
by providing a link away from your site to
theirs. See How Were
Different.
If you want shoppers to interact with and link to a
third party while they are in the middle of
shopping on your site, then you need to look
elsewhere in the marketplace for a gift
registry. If you want to maintain the integrity
of your shopping environment and
build your brand, then NetGift Registry
has a great solution for you.

What else makes you different?
Our partners, of course, have full
access to our tools and technologies, but we also
have gift registry development guidelines available
to 'do-it-yourselfers' and even other gift registry
providers.
We believe that consumers will demand that there be one
universal gift registration network, just as there is
one Internet. By creating and publishing our
technology for anyone evaluate and use,
we provide the first critical steps for such a
network to exist.

What's this talk of a network?
We're not only open, we are open at both
ends. First of all, we allow virtually any
merchant to establish their own, private-labeled gift
registry using our highly flexible Application
Programming Interface or quick-start Templates.
Secondly, we give merchants the option to distribute the
data across the sites of our distribution
partners.
This makes the following scenario possible: I registered for
the items I want from my favorite site, CBS
SportsLine. My sister registered for items
she wants from her favorite site, Homestead.com.
When a gift-giving occasion nears for me, my sister is
able to use the Homestead Gift Registry to discover
what I want and initiate the purchase of that item
from CBS SportsLine.

I dont want to be on a network!
I just want my own gift registry.
That's fine, too. You can keep your gift registry out of
the network. Your users' data will only be
available to users when they are on your site.

If I'm part of the network, will users click away
to another retailer?
No. As a retailer, shoppers only come to you from other
destination sites, like Homestead.com
or USAToday.com.

Why can't we build our own gift registry?
You can. But you face a steep learning curve, months
of development time and you still wont have the best
solution available. Weve done all of the work and
we'll give you the tools and support
to create and manage it.

I already have a wish list on my site. How can
you contact me?
It's great you recognize the need for a gift
registry. What we bring you is numerous man-years
of additional functionality and the opportunity to
leverage your gift registry data across other
high-traffic partner sites.

Where is the data kept?
We store all of your gift registry data in our Oracle
databases on multiple Sun servers, each fully
peered to the Internet.

Who owns the data?
You own the data. NetGift Registry is a custodian for
your gift registry data. We give you the
tools to manage and leverage that data. NetGift
Registry will NEVER sell or lend your data to
another party.

How long does integration take?
We have a highly customizable API that our partners
can develop from, as well as a suite
of quick-start templates (that are customizable as
well). Most partners find the templates are
perfect for them. It takes 2 to 4 weeks to
build your own private-labeled gift
registry with our templates.
